O’Regan goes into the chair role — for what’s officially known as the working group on regulatory efficiency for clean growth projects — armed with plenty of applicable experience.

As labour minister, he is one of the most prominent front bench faces in the government’s push to spur growth in clean tech and energy sectors as Canada works towards meeting its net-zero targets. His focus has been on ensuring opportunities for Canadian workers in the shift to renewable and clean energies.
